Hi, hoping someone can help. I’m on holiday with my new bike and the dropper seat post won’t engage to lock. It’s a Bontrager one, Trek e-mtb. The seat post clamp which has a rack attached had lifted, not sure if that caused an issue?
Internal routing? If so have you pulled the seat post up and not fed the extra cable into the frame?
Undo the seat clamp, push the post into the frame abit more - does this re-engage the dropper so it now stays up?
No, and there’s squelching noise which is worrying, a seal maybe.
Actually tried again and it is fixed! Thank you!
I only know cos I did something similar on a test bike, half way round a demo loop, saddle feels a bit low, moved up the post - now the saddle was right except the dropper was permanently activated
Well you’ve saved my holiday from disaster 🙂
