I've just fitted a 125mm dropper post to my bike. Not ridden it yet as I need to buy anti seize, so the post is on the bike but unused. It transpires a 150mm will fit, which I had thought wouldn't prior to buying. Is it worth swapping or should I just stick with the 125mm one?
I have cut the cable to length and cycled the post a few times, but any replacement would have a brand new cable and bits, I would keep the one already on. I am not prepared to mislead the retailer about it already being fitted though, so I even wonder if it's too late anyway?

No, not a reverb. Any replacement would have a nicely wrapped cable, lever and bits and bobs to go back with the shorter post, that's what I meant. If the retailer say no then that's that, it's more that I'm wondering whether to even bother perusing it and add another weeks delay for the longer post, or just crack on.
I suspect I'm overthinking this and doing the usual thing of seeking perfection or the optimum, when in reality the one I have will be ace as it is 🙂
I have a 125mm drop Reverb, that's more than enough drop IMO.
I barely ever use the full 5" of my Reverb, so FWIW I'd get out there and enjoy it 🙂
i Used a 3 " GD for years and it was fine
No have a 4 " new which is fine
I think 5 " will be fine as well tbh

125 is more than enough drop unless you resemble the BFG then no drop will ever be enough.
I'd imagine you'd have to at least bend the truth to get the shop to take it back. I'd just stop worrying and use the one you've got.
