I know I am a mincer XC jey boy, love a climb and the more nadgery the better. But apparently a dropper post is a must and my whole riding style will be transformed ( I might my able to go downhill without screaming like a girl). I will never look back my erstwhile and present riding colleagues say. Currently I quite like my raceface carbon next post, it's light and strong and never gets moved. However I am dropper curious, what's light and reliable? Mates all have Reverbs.
I'm not entirely sure the words 'light' and 'dropper' should go together in the same sentence TBH.
Weight isn't everything though. Having a dropper (I'm running a Reverb and wouldn't use anything else from personal experience) has a made a far greater improvement in my riding than any lightweight products I've bought previously - my Reverb originally replaced a Ritchie Carbon WCS post and it really is worth the extra weight.
Try one of your mates' bikes? You might not have a problem that needs solving (never lowering your seatpost is telling) so better to find out before dropping £200 on it.
