put gears on my road bike but can hear something squeaking away, new chain and cassette but rear mech is second hand and i'm wondering if it's the jockey wheels? top one looks ok bottom one looks like seen better days. I can't work it out from listening annoyingly. How much lateral play should there be in the jockey wheels?

Put a drop of oil on them and see if it makes any difference. Also check the B/B and freehub.

been riding it ss so i know it's not the bb or freewheel, i'll try the oil cheers
