I'd like to add a remote to my CC IL Coil shock and I don't think I'm going to manage to get this routed internally. I was idly thinking about whether to fit a couple of cable tidy points onto the frame possibly it might be possible to glue them / use strong double sided tape but I might need to drill a couple of tiny holes to do it - is this a really bad idea??

I don't either. Appropriately glued on cable guides should be fine, surely?
I've modified carbon frames - why not use suitably sized carbon fibre tubes bonded into the frame? Make sure the edges of the hole are clean and build-up a good fillet of epoxy around the joint to minimise any potential stress-raisers.
Loctite 330 and Curved cable tie mounts, unlikely to ever come off.

I've drilled carbon rims and bottom brackets to create drain holes before with no issue. There are other options though.
You could drill - how do you think they get the existing holes in there? - but I'd just glue cable stops on. I've done this and it works really well, using epoxy.
Take the paint off though. Hold the cable stop in place, draw around it, then carefully scratch off the paint inside the area. The resulting roughed up area will hold the glue much better. But don't scratch deep - you're aiming to rough up the protective layer of resin on top of the fibre not the fibre itself.
Carbon composites have have tendency to delaminate/blowout when drilled. In the factory they usually put a patch of glass fibre in the layup where the hole will be and/or have a temporary backing surface underneath the carbon. Bottom of BB is not so bad, there it is thick and you have access to both sides.
