Want to run full length outers - better to drill out or mill off the ends of the guides - erring on the side of milling as it seems less accident prone

I've drilled them on several frames but you normally need a long series drill.

Clamping the frame for milling would be awkward and possibly more likely to cause more damage than opening up the guides

You must have a pretty impressive milling machine to clamp a frame in it!

Milling runs the risk of damage when you clamp the frame and will always be visible. How about using a Dremel, you get the speed with a similar result as drilling or filing.

File works fine for me but otherwise drill it out to just fit shimano gear outer and it'll still work with split outer routing if you want to revert.
