As to my old tread i am going to Loch Lomand in Feb. I was going to take my XC bike to get some great trails in (ride what i see). But now there is room for both my bike, so my downhill bike is coming. the thing is i am the only mountain biker in the party (family Holiday) so i will be riding down hill on my own, so looking for a known trail and close to where i am staying. looking as far as Ben Lomand from Balloch.

Hi, you should do "Ben Lomond" just go up and down the main walkers trails its awesome fun - however you should do some arm and finger strengthening exercises before you go to combat the burn!!!

Just push up the main path up Ben Lomond from Rowardennan and ride back down it - it would be amazing fun on a DH bike. Quite a push up (3 hours or so for me) but well worth it imo.

Do it late in the day though imo to avoid walkers.
