cant find a conventional double front mech anywhere 34.9
anyone? fed up of looking.

Yes, unisize, large band (34.9) comes with collars to suit the smaller diameters of seat tube.

Check the shimano tech docs to confirm fitment.
Also the SLX one is to suit the 22-36 chain wheel combo. No idea what else it fits but I think the max difference is 14T.
