Why double double at the back? Fixie and freehub? Problems with chain length otherwise surely?

This is why:

Fixie and free wheel capable. Chainlength isn't an issue. Just carry some half links and other stuff. This is a world tourer with nothing to mess with. Amazing. 135 up front too for ultimate breakdown reasurance.

I've done it before, Worked a treat.

34 - 16
32 - 18

Just dropped the wheel out and swap over. No need to adjust chain tension.

i did it as a slicked commuter/weekend off roader.
cant remember the exact ratios but they were something like 32/17 and 38/13. the maths was a few teeth out but because of the bigger circle of the large chainring it took care of the slack so no adjustment was needed.
