Halfords is cheap as long as you are willing to buy a half a pint of the stuff.

i paid £6 when i got 500ml which was still cheeper than halfords

Don't buy in bulk as you don't need that much that often. 250ml from affords will do the trick.

Halfords do 250ml bottles of high performance dot 5.1, overkill unless you live in the Alps, but I've not used it up despite bleeding brakes every 6 months (fair bit of use, heavy bloke, small rotors).

Local car parts place. Mega spares ect... Still looking at around £5 for 500ml

If you are buying it mail order then leave the bottle to stand for a couple of days before you use it and then don't shake it too much when you do use it.
