Very nice! Can I ask how much the frame was? But what's going on with the wiggles in the forks and seat stays?

I normally like road bikes. I have to admit my expectations weren't high on opening a thread with this title.

At least these frames look like they've been pre-tested against a barrier

Is that stem in orbit around those spacers? I'm assuming your mate damaged his back in that parking barrier interface.

Why would you buy such a thing? A lack of common sense perhaps? It may be more sensible to buy something 'real' within your budget. Is this thread a troll?

It baffles me that someone who doesn't normally like road bikes likes this one. Show us some pictures of mountain bikes you like, just so I can try and work you out 😉

Why buy two sets of shoes if you're not a serious roadie?

I wouldn't worry about the picture of the broken one, Mike Hall rode round the world on his chinese carbon frame, just happen to have a Planet X sticker on it, that didn't break....

So what is it? Is it a Pinnarello Dogma or a Chinese copy for £400? I was chatting to one of the GB pro's recently who reckoned you could buy an un badged Pinnarello direct from the factory in china for a fraction of the price. He also referred to his company dogma as 'that heap of heavy Italian sh**e'!

You beat me to it, I was just about to post that link!

Buying a cheap Chinese knock-off frame with basically no warranty - yeah genius. 🙄

Im all for buying a no-brand frame from china (I've used one for over 6000 miles) but why would anyone want an actual fake bike?!

I know absolutely nothing about road bikes, all I can say is I like how it looks.

You see: Your error was expressing an opinion that didn't conform to the STW hive mind, therefore attracting ridicule.

Remember: Conformity is acceptance around these 'ere parts.

If it's a fake and you pass through customs and they spot it then it will be conficated and destroyed. Also no warranty and likely to be sub standard, way too many risks buying knock off stuff

I've got no problem with cheap chinese frames, but I wouldn't want one of these because a) it's a fake which as pointed out isn't really on and b) I'd be worried they spent all their time and effort making it look right rather than riding well/being safe!

Just looked up Pinarello Dogma framesets, they are usually £4000 and your friend's cost £400 which is a little concerning. And for all the Pinarello haters, doesn't Wiggo ride a Dogma?

Yes Sherma but it's 'wiggos' job to ride one, he'd probably ride an Apollo if he got paid more!

They're probably still mint tho, dunno about that dogyma tho

they all come from "open moulds" and there are about 20/30 companies who all sell very similar frames. literally hundred to choose from but still need to air on the side of caution...

I can forgive buying a carbon ebay frame (I bought some wheels, wont do that again though)

But I really can't forgive the millions of spacers and MTB angle stem 😉
