Loving it. Thought it might make it chopper-ish but no, it handles great.
9/10 would recommend.

Is it the photos, or Is the bar angle a little challenging.

A seamless blend of old and new.
It's more of a statement than a bike.

You put that blue-pedalled frankenchild together just to put the pics on here, didn't you? ๐Ÿ™‚

Well there can't be too many of those around.

Are those bars as wide as they look in the bottom pic?

So seamless it almost looks like is was designed to be like that. Almost.

In the time honored tradition of STW another niche has been created.

Bravo that man!

Although, looking on the positive side ........... you have created a completely theft-proof bike there.
Because let's face it, no self respecting chav would want to be seen dead on that thing !!
So, respect, I suppose.

Erm. OP - are you not the person a few months ago that said that disc brakes were completely unnecessary (or was that just on singlespeeds?)

They're only 680mm Tioga R60s

The wire 4.0 Juggernaut is <1400g, a Floater is way more. If it wasn't, yeah I might've put a white one on

I think I said something about hydraulics. As it happens, the Deore V-brake is more powerful than the BB7 at the moment

If Suntour bring out that cheapish 1 1/8 steerer fat sus fork, everyone will be fat-fronting their old hardtails, mark my words

but then where will you go to find your niche?

I assume the point of the photo's is that the front made light work of the logs but the rear couldn't hack it?
Does it actually handle OK? whats it like leaning it into corners?

I think it looks good. Well done!

Nickc - 1400 is about middle of the pack for tyre weight, no?

1400 is pretty good for a fat tyre. Though I don't think that juggernaught will be any good in the mud, when it comes.

Been riding my half fat Jones, as my only bike, for nearly 6 years now, love it! My tyres range from 1150 to 1600g ๐Ÿ˜‰

Don't listen to the narrow minded haters!

I have the same frame in the garage, i will not be following your lead. Its wrong to my eyes, but if you like it fill your boots.

Very PC so far this thread... Where's the usual STW calls to "pass the eye bleach" or "kill it with fire"?

I posted up my new HT a while back, and nobody seemed interested in the bike especially, but the choice of background and excessive foliage on the floor behind the bike garnered much criticism! Exactly as to be expected...

It's just not the same forum it used to be! ๐Ÿ˜ฅ

I used my specialized epic frame and slapped an on one front in it. I also put a narrow mud tyre on the rear.

It worked ok in the mud of the wyre, saved my other bikes a lot of abuse. It self steered like a pig, looked a bit odd and i felt the fat front didn't help my riding skill, it flattered the rider.

I soon broke it for bits and have a 27.5+ now which seems a lot more rounded

-It would be my gift to the world

-Yep. Front wheel goes where you point it. Sketchy looking roots ahead soon becomes what roots? as you steamroll over them. Leant over there's lots of grip and it's always the rear that'll break loose first. To my surprise I carved a nice Sam Hill-esque inside line on a downhill corner which led me to exclaim "I AM A CYCLING GOD" to no-one in particular
