Through work I have bumped into a bunch of guys that work for a low land search and rescue team. During the course of the conversation, they mentioned that they have just set up a cycle section, and are trying to kit it out. The search and rescue team are a registered charity and would welcome any donation.
They are specifically looking for carrying equipment, lights, and spares. As you can imagine, the cost of kitting out a cycle for search and rescue duties can prove to expensive, does anyone have any bits that are lying around that they could donate to a worthy cause.
The team currently own a few bikes, but could also do with some help in sourcing some bespoke bikes, if anyone has any contacts that they think might be able to help with sponsoring a couple of bikes, please drop me a line as a point of contact, in the first instance.

Up here in scotland, most rescue teams get a lot of support from the Order of St John. As in the St Johns Ambulance. They may be willing to support.

Up here the Glentress/Tweed Forrest FC area has developed a Bike Patrol for the trails. Maybe the local FC will help.
