I've had one like this, but the spring/clapper has snapped off.
It's a decent ping, but nothing like as effective at getting attention as the tring-tring type bell on my town bike, but I can only see them with the usual pressed steel clamp for handlebars like this:

Does anyone know of an old school bell that will attach to or fit round aheadset spacers? Cheers.

+1 for wanting an "old school" bell. The noise is friendlier and I've found more likely to result in a smile from the red sock brigade.
The only ones I've found have been cheap and nasty, with pretty rubbish mounts to pretty much impossible to use on a modern decent bike.
Crane also do a steerer mount bell, Brick Lane Bikes sell them IIRC.
