On my tern GSD with Bosch performance line motor there’s a clicking feeling started when pedalling occasionally. If it were a normal bike I’d be thinking some grit or water ingress to the bb bearings. But I’m unsure how the Bosch system is set up. Any advice at all? Googling only reveals full bearing issues. Chain and cassette are fine.

No bottom bracket per say, the motor bearings are the bottom bracket

No way to replace yourself, make sure its nothing else that is clicking, if it is the motor bearings then its warranty time

If its out of warranty then its a chat with bearing man at

Prices start at £250 depending on what issues they find once they open the motor up

Thanks both. I’ll wait until it’s a bit drier and pull the covers and sprocket off to have a look.

I notice that site doesn't do much for Shimano. Is there anyone who does? I realise Shimano would prefer you to take it to a 'Service Centre' but surely there must be somebody outside their net work that has spares and will do work.

I'd love to hear the reasons from Shimano and Bosch as to why these aren't (easily) user serviceable items.

I'm fairly sure Bosch have lots of service centres but Shimano go more for the 'chuck it in the bin and fit a new one' approach. I could be wrong though. The EMTB forum will probably have more useful advice.
