Soles feel noticably less tacky to the touch, have I knackered them by leaving them on a radiator for 2 days?

Rather than newspaper buy some disposable nappies, they will dry them out a lot quicker

Have you seen the price of nappies?

And the fact that I dont have a kid would worry me.

Better than wet feet the next day. Alternatives are seal skins

I usually wear tesco bags on my feet or waterproof socks or tumble dry them so thats not a major issue up north!

Also live up north but when you are away from home you need to look at alternatives

This is weird being persuaded to buy nappies on a forum from a problem that doesn't exist for me.

to make 5.10 rubber super tacky again, wash the rubber with a bit of washing up liquid, air dry and it's stickier than poo on a blanket. (old climbers trick for making 5.10's smear on shiny limestone) 😀

I don't think drying on radiators does much for the leather though?

Really? would have thought they would be all slippy?! I'll give it a go this evening (please tell me now if you were joking!)

I like the tip about nappies, I have a 4 day wales trip coming up and I was vaguely thinking about buying a second pair to swap over to if the weather is awful. Just saved me £80

My 5.10s have been baked on the radiators, in the sun and on top of the boiler. Haven't noticed any less stickiness in the rubber.

Have used THE dry sock moisture removers for insides of many shoes. Very effective and reusable (after whacking them on the radiator to dry).

Your more likely to wreck the glue holding them together than damage the leather.... 😕
