My sons are falling apart, they're a cheap SR fork I seem to remember.

Is there anything better out there?

Cheers

I looked a while back without much success.

Apparently Marzocchi made a 24" specific fork the D street. Even if you could find one second hand, I doubt a kid would be able to compress it.

The other option is to find a low travel 26" (disc) fork with a low axle to crown measurement.

Hi richpips, yeah I seem to remember those too?

Having looked around on the net it seems very unlikely I'll find something so looks like a regular fork is the way to go...

Thanks

I think a 26" with a short a-c would be the best bet.
Or a 26" fork and a 26" front wheel, a 46er shuld work, 69ers do.

haha! I had actually thought briefly about a 46er.

I'm thinking of getting a cheap (when I say cheap I mean peanuts - I'm skint!) old but decent at the time fork and cutting down the internals...

I just put a standard 26" Recon on my sons, worked fine with a 24" wheel.

If you're tech savvy you can do wonderful things with shiver sc's inc making them triple clamp for 20"

I've got a 888 top crown that'll fit if you triple them if it's any use

How are managing with brakes when putting 26" forks onto a 24: wheel bike? Are the bikes runnign discs? My sons 24" Hotrock FSR needs a new fork but he is running v brakes so I'm stuck.

The best 24" suspension fork is a RST F1rst air. 1600g (with long steerer) and about £150.

Could remove the dropouts from some Pace forks, lop 25mm off & glue the dropouts back on. 😕

Me...I'd put some Exotic carbon rigids on with a nice big tyre, & comfy grips.
