my front axle for my gravel bike is 15x130b - the axle has a quick release on it which i would like to loose as i will save weight and avoid it catching in things ( i *always* have tools on me as i need it for the rear)ย
I have been hunting about on aliexpress for a Ti version but to no avail ( and even the robert axle project)ย
anyone know where i can get one of these ? its off of an Orange RX9 and i dont want an exact replacement i want one without the QR lever ( or a fancy hidden QR)ย
I think you need to know the thread pitch too. Orange have lot of rear thru-axles on their shop, but no fronts, they might be worth a shout though.
The geometry page for the 2023 RX9 shows Length-152mm, Thread-20mm, Pitch-M12X1.5 for the front axle, but I'm not sure if that tallies with what you have there.
thanks its weird that on their site they list it in 1 place as a 12mm axel and somewhere else as a 15mm - its definitely a 15 ๐
There was a fork recall at some point & I think originally it was an all aluminium fork rather than carbon bladed,ย so things may have changed.
What is the other end like? Is it a captive part of the fork (i.e. threaded leg) or a nut that falls off. If the later I think you struggle to tighten properly without a qr.ย
There is someone makes 15mm to 12mm axle conversions for gravel/road bikes, they may do something that will work. https://jjpne.com/fork-conversion-kits/ ย
The weight saving is minimal btwย
The Robert Axle Project will sort you out - not cheap, though.ย ย

SJS cycles are the UK seller of Robert Axle Project.
