other than the Pentlands - I want to go out on the old MTB tomorrow but don't want to cyle/drive too far from home.

Been having a ride around the area (north Livingston) but its all a bit suburby and nothing promising is jumping out yet

cheers (google map points would be much appreciated )

thought about that, but i want to stay as local as possible as the wifes not feeling too good

Head into East calder and follow road till you come to local shops/pub etc ( has parking spaces outside them. CArry on past there round the 90 degree laft bend and start heading down towards bridge over the river. There's a road on the left prior to the bridge, take that and follow for about 50 metres or so. Then there's a path down to the right. Go down there and follow river path, through woods etc. You can mince about there and on way back instead of going back up the path that leads you to the road where you came from you can continue under the bridge and follow river path.
