bear in mind the correct answer is yes of course it needs a new wheel.
One spoke on the rear wheel of my road bike keeps losing tension. Tightens up fine but then post ride it's loose again. That must be an issue with the spoke threads rather than the rim?

Change that spoke and the nipple, and while you're doing it, look closely at the rim where the nipple sits.

Oh and Pacenti rims on DA/Ultegra if you're going handbuilt, Mavics for a factory set.(Sorry, I'm no roadie, there may be better options)

Been doing a bit of research on rims to see if there is anything beyond open pro I'm 100kg+ so I'm looking for a robust build . for every suggested rim there is also issues. alpha 400 have sidewall/brake tracks of cheese, h plus son archytype are having quality issues

Check the rim there and see if there's a bit of a flat spot in the region of the offending spoke. That would cause the spoke to lose tension. As long as it's not too bad, a bit of Loctite 222 on the spoke thread should keep it in place.
