Just curious really.
Currently running 135 with a dt Swiss through axle.
Bike has the capability of going to 142 bolt through but I'm just wondering if it makes much difference to the rear end stiffness or feel at all ?
27.4% or summett
Looking at New wheels that's all.
I think it does.
If you are buying new wheels anyway, you not just as well trying it out?
I have to buy a dropout conversion kit which is 30quid plus the axle on top.
I thought the idea was just to make it easier to fit the rear wheel and not a stiffness thing, but I might be wrong.
It makes putting the wheel back in a lot easier.
I don't think there's any stiffness benefit compared to 135x12mm bolt thru as the hub is the same....
There's no stiffness benefit, it just makes it very slightly easier to insert the back wheel, there's very little point in 'upgrading' from a 135x12 axle
Is it a 10mm bolt-through currently?
Nope I think it's a normal back end with a dt Swiss quick release that screws in if that makes sense
Buy Hope hub'd wheels that way they'll do either.
And yes, I've noticed a difference going from 135 QR to 142 bolt - although that could be linked to going from a flexy Ti HT to a carbon FS ๐
