I'm starting a build for my new bike. A Jones steel spaceframe 29er (Yes, I'm very excited, can't can't wait to ride it). The frame will arrive in December. I've been looking at ZTR Flow rims with WTB tyres. However, the review of the WTB Mutanoraptor in Issue 61 says, Exiwolf "The tyre ... wouldn’t go on to a Stan’s rim at all (Stan’s rims lack the UST bead hook, which is why WTB suggest you don’t use its tyres with Stan’s Systems)". I can't find anything else online that backs this up. Can anyone else comment on this problem? I need to run tubeless with sealant in some places that I ride – central Australia.
Yep tried a few in my 29er rims
Flow 29er rims here and used almost every WTB tyre they make on them no problem at all.
Oh and be sure to post up pictures when your spaceframe arrives.
I've used WTB tyres tubeless on stand rims almost exclusively for the last 2 years. Great tyres.
Thanks all. I will go forward boldly with the WTB / ZTR combination. I'll post pics when it's built. (Sorry stu, it'll have gears.)
