Just a thought, but people dont like to be told what to do by strangers
Then they shoon't act like dicks then, should they?
If them being a knob has any possible effect on mine or others' safety, then they'll get told. Don't care who they are. Don't care what they think of me.
GG - heres a special tip just for you - remember to keep your mouth shut, otherwise somebody might put their fist in it. Theres a good boy.
This is funny. 😀
I am afraid I tend to - told some kids last year to get some as I passed them!
You've all seen these right? LED Throwies. I reckon you could knock together a load of those and dunk them in plastidip for waterproofing for a few pennies each. Carry a few round in your pocket and then surreptitiously stick them on the back end of stealth bikes at traffic lights and whatnot...
My absolute bug bear at the momment though are cyclists with high powered front LED lights who have them on the intermittent flash mode.... **** idiots!!
Why are they idiots then?
I don't usually say anything to people without lights, but I do tell people who do have lights if they're obscured or really dim.

*waves*
😀
This is funny.
Violence is never funny. Unless performed on mockney wide boys. Then it's hilarious, and 100% justified.
Why are people with high powered LED lights - who then decide that rather than just being seen they want to totally blind and disorientate other road users..
Why are they idiots?
Drive your car to work.. constantly flashing your full / main beams...
Use the same route for a week....
Then get back to me with your observations.
they want to totally blind and disorientate other road users
ooooh look at the shiny shiny light.
must. go. towards. the. light.
Thats the one mate..
And how many cyclists are injured in accidents caused by the fact that they have not got lights?
The answer:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2009/dec/15/cycling-bike-accidents-study
"The study, carried out for the Department for Transport, found that failure to use lights was mentioned 2% of the time."
"The cyclists' lobby group CTC said the report showed that the government needed to focus more on driver behaviour rather"
And 2%...
Well thats a reasonable number isnt it ?
Might consider removing my lights based on that nugget !
Who needs them?
Then they shoon't act like dicks then, should they?If them being a knob has any possible effect on mine or others' safety, then they'll get told. Don't care who they are. Don't care what they think of me.
Thats OK then, you wont mind me thinking you're a dick and being a knob.
Too many "cyclists" on here.
Been knocked off twice on my commute to work. Broad daylight both times. "Sorry mate, didn't see you" was what they both said. So from now on I have my 900(ish) lumun torch on flashing all the time. Always pointing down about 5 yards in front of me though. A driver once started moaning about how bright it was once. " so you saw me then?" I said. "Saw you?, I couldn't help but see you. " Came his reply. " Mission accomplished" I said back to him. And with that he nodded in a fair cop type of way. I'd rather be seen than be dead.
Ah so p*****g off other motorists is now a recognised way of advancing our cause?
And surely if you are getting knocked off during the day...WTF is the flashing torch all about?
Keeping alive is more important to me than upsetting someone in a car.
I have one of my lights on flashing mode, i think it helps get you seen.
I, like most on here am also a motorist and never get annoyed when i see a cyclist with flashing lights. I just guess some things annoy some people more than others.
It's not like you follow a car for miles when you're cycling, they see a flashy light for a few seconds and then they're on their way.
I say better too much light than not enough.
Like has been mentioned above, i'd rather have a motorist whinging that my lights are too bright than apologising to me that he didn't see me whilst waiting for the ambulance to arrive.....
Thats OK then, you wont mind me thinking you're a dick and being a knob.
Go ahead. You have the right to be wrong. 😀
Too many "cyclists" on here.
Erm... 😕
Violence is never funny. Unless performed on mockney wide boys. Then it's hilarious, and 100% justified.
😀
So I needunt worry then, not being a 'Mockney Wide Boy'.
Do you mean people like this?
Nope. None of my business. it's the individuals decision.
How do you know it's a decision? The other week, a pedestrian told me that one of my car headlights was out. I was grateful, as I hadn't noticed.
