Remember official temperatures are recorded in the shade, which is why car and Garmin temps often show higher.
True, although that's down to the colour, shape and orientation of the object and the suns radiation, the air itself is the same temp.

I enjoyed it so much last night I'm doing a 35 mile round trip tonight to stand in the heat and marshall a TT.
At least I'm not riding it.

Yes you do. It'll be winter before you know it. Come winter you'll be looking out of the window at the dark dank sky and lashing rain one day thinking 'how can it STILL be raining?!' and wishing you had gone out on that hot summer's day...
