Just wondering, I am tempted to invest in a cheap-ish road bike sometime, and was wondering what a 'good-deal' would be.

Thanks

They do, but they're pretty unpredictable... At one point they had a 10% off all bikes and a 20% off all carreras running simultaneously so you could buy a Fury for about the RRP of its forks

If you know anyone who works for the halifax/bank of scotland they do a 5% (or is it 10%?) off all gift vouchers for them... So you can always get a discount through that.

Last time I worked for them as a student-they upped their prices for a month only to reticket a month later to normal price stating sale.

How dodgy is that?!

zasker, currys do that as well so i'm sure that it goes on in most high street stores.

poppa, check out focus on wiggle and also some of the stuff at ribble cycles. there's also some good used bargains about if you are prepared to hunt.
