Never seen one for sale, could you knock 1mm off the cup?

The correct solution involves a grinder acting on the cup.

l.e. Except for this particular headset, that is :/.

If you find someone with a lathe it is quicker to remove 1mm from the headset cup than make a spacer. It would also only take you a few minutes with a file (maybe just enlarging the chamfer would work depending on the inside profile of the HT).

Get a ZS44 cup and have it machined into a ring of 44mm ID.

Send me the headset cup and a stamped addressed envelope (and maybe a fiver) and I'll turn it down on my lathe for you.

The *much* easier solution would be to ream the headtube deeper. The park reamer we have can ream to around twice that depth if required

@andyl: The Solaris' headtube is a 44mm ID cylinder, there's virtually no insertion depth limit on it. However, unless you have a straight steerer on your fork you won't be able to use a Slackerizer.

This headset is EC, but it is more like a ZS - the bearings sit inside the frame, any lathe cut on the bottom of the cup will most likely get you a nice sunny window facing the bearing.

Update.
After a quick measure of everything Superstars info is totaly wrong. The actual insertion depth of the EC cups is a tad over 8.5mm.There 10mm info includes the tapered end of the cup so slotted in a dream. ๐Ÿ˜€
