So having seen several ofย Dom Whiting's video's on facebook, i'd always wanted to join one of his DnB rides..
Having seen he was coming to Brighton, I thought it would be a FAB idea to bring my daughter (8) down on the cargo bike for a bit of music and bike culture!!
OMG - WHAT AN EVENT! I mean, we both probably got stoned by the amount of ganja in the air! But it was soooo fun! She was loving the music (which was REALLY loud!) and the bells and horns tinging all the time! A fun 12ish km route through brighton, with hundreds upon hundreds of bikes just taking over the place..and it really seemed the cars didn't mind! I mean - they were litereally stuck as bikes went up all sides of the roads, but the drivers were tooting (with joy) and taking pics and videos!
It's a really surreal experience, being part of something so big and powerful...this huge musical rolling roadblock!
Highlight was when we stopped under the viaduct, and the tunnel effect of ALL the speakers booming DnB was incredible!
The set up was eally impressive - Dom on teh DJ nike, with the music transmitted to various other speakers on bikes/backs of other riders in the crowd!!
Honestly - If he comes to a town near youmake an effort to go join in!!
Apologies for the photo-boms incoming... and yeah, mostly me and my Bubba, but it was jsut TOO GOOD!!!

Anyone else there? I met a few mates who are local....
Will keep an eye out for the YT stream!
DrP
He's done Manchester in the past - will take a look if I am around !
That looks fun....!
How did I miss this?
Sandboy Jnr has been in Hove since Friday and will be gutted if he missed this!!
It is good. The Sheffield one was immense. The after party in Endcliffe park was like my 1 year old's first rave.
awesome sauce!
missed it too. hopefully there'll be a psa if another one occurs
Always wondered what he (Dom?)ย looked like from the waste down and now i know, cheers.
I was at the Swansea one last year, if he does it again I'll probably take a more suitable bike

No need for a what trousers for turntablism on a trike thread now.
Loved the idea but don't think I could handle doing a ride, too many people. Saw it ride by once and loved the panic it threw security staff into. Shame he seem restricted in the tunes he plays due to copywriting I believe as for my taste it's not the best dnb.
<p style="text-align: left;">I took my 2 year old on the previous Brighton one last year, he was on a Shotgun seat and loved it.</p>
It was awesome! Such a great atmosphere. Was hoping to go again at the weekend but unfortunately we had other plans for the day.
Wanted to do the London one with my wee lady and the cargo bike but sadly had other commitments that I couldn't move.
Hopefully he does another one in Oxford or somewhere else I can get to before the end of the Summer.
Loved to have been to that, looks so much fun....such a shame we've missed Brighton
Sheffield was brilliant but I made the mistake of going on a FS, not the best for all that stopping and starting, ht next time.
