UPDATE: Reviews section refreshed, redesigned, searchable: Go take a look
Having just done a skills day and been confronted by just how awful my jumping/table top/manualling technique is, I'm going back to flats for a few months.
Have Shimano shoes already but my Wellgo MG1s are quite tired, plus I'd really like the pedals to have an instep pin
I've narrowed it down to SS Nano X (yes, I know kittens will die!) or DMR Vaults. Not a massive difference in price
Anyone ridden both? Any comments?
I have size 42 feet if that makes any difference....
As an aside, Max from Endeavour coaching at Hamsterley is very patient!
Nanos very good, but I preferred the Vaults by a mile, the pin shape and concavity just sinks the ball of my foot into the middle and they feel very secure.
I have three sets and they've been very durable, but others on here vae found them less so.
Nanos are very good, expe when you consider price. Carboncycles.cc do a similar/identical pedal for less
Thanks - what lets the vaults down wrt durability; pins or bearings?
Edit - £35 for the carboncc Exotic ones is a bargain, thanks for that!
I've lost two pins off three sets in...I dunno six or seven years?
They have a bearing and a bushing - for me, when they develop little play, I just strip and regrease and they're good (there's a good video online with Ed Oxley doing this). Others have had to replace bearings, I think.
RBH, there seem to be horror stories on every brand of pedal.
Also - Ubyk are usually cheapest for Vaults.
