Is there any difference in size with these two pedals, thinking of the mag version to save some weight !

V8/12s look the same. Vaults are much nicer IMO.

V8 and 12 are the same, just materials used on the two.

v8 are ally, and have ball bearings at both ends. v12 are mag or ally, and have a cartridge bearing at the non crank end, and a bush at the crank end.
v8 are lighter than ally v12. v8 have a port so you can pump grease in, with a provided syringe. v12 bush (in my experiance) can seize up and run tight, especially if you have hit some water recently, and need stipping and re greasing. dont strip the lh thread nut.
had v8 on hardtail for years and they have been fine, with a bit of grease every now and then. v12 have had to be stripped and regreased several times in less time.
i'm getting something else next time!
