Need to swap some hub bearings and there is a ring that I cannot remove. I dont have a 'Park Pin Spanner', has anyone made their own out of say an old fork etc? Any ideas, its in there pretty tight. Cheers.

Tap it loose with a nail punch in one of the holes?

use 2 of those nails banged into a bit of wood and cut down a bit.Might work if things are not tight or after you have loosened them with the punch trick.

Circlip pliers and a screwdriver.
Works a treat and doesn't damage the holes.

re the tapping punch idea, I'd maybe try making an indent on the outside of the ring (punch at right angles), then once indented (*beware of whats underneath etc and this might not be good - it's a motorbike trick and there's lots more metal) then push to loosen using the punch at an angle

Get the right tool. Using a punch will damage the holes and make using the correct pin spanner difficult in future unless it is very loose

Bontrager hub by any chance? If so, it's a C-spanner that's needed, should have come with the hub/bike.
