This forum is jam packed with clever bastards . I'd probably gaffer tape a mount onto my helmet back to front !!

I drilled a hole in the plate that comes in the box to mount it on a tripod... honestly though I wish bucketboy had at least waited until there were 10 posts before dropping that one it ๐Ÿ™‚

Emergency services use kit docks by a company called Klickfast. The female dock comes in a variety of versions, sew-on, belt sliders, clip on docks made of robust leather designed to clip onto tabs on shirts, jackets and so on. Many of the sew-on ones are actually attached to jackets and vests and when they are thrown out I scavenge them. The male stud is harder to come by, being stuck, attached and even built into bits of equipment that need them, but a change over of radio covers and handheld/palmtop holders means I have been able to get hold of a few.

The male stud plate is bonded to one of the Gopro QR holders using the self-adhesive pad. The glue used must be incredible, as I haven't had one come loose despite test wiggling and jiggling.

The male stud clicks into the female dock and then needs to be turned completely upside down to remove, otherwise it's firm and secure in the dock.

Here's the male stud bonded to the QR mount.
