I'm changing my brakes from Shimano Deore to Avid Juicy 3.5 but I want to still use my shimano centre lock rotors (160mm)

The avids have a 160mm mount on the rear which I assume should work fine, however the front has a 185mm mount.

Do all brakes use the same mount and can I just switch over the deore mount or will I have to buy a 160mm avid mount to use with my 160mm rotor?

The real question here is why would you go from Shimano to Avid? There can be no advantage to that surely?

I'm buying a new bike to strip for parts which comes with juicy brakes and from what I've heard these are very comparable to deores but slightly lighter, in white and with a fixed clamp. However I have heard pad changes aren't as easy.
So unless I really don't get on with the juicys I'll be keeping them and selling the deores.

So is the mount adaptor universal or will I have to buy an avid one?

Cheers

Yes adaptors are universal. You can use any brand of mount with any brand of disc.
