Going on a Cotic X for bridleways and forest trails (no big fat rocks).
I'm pretty light and go easy on wheels so don't need anything too burly.

What's the best bet for up to £150 max?

Ta.

XT hubs on open pros from lbs

This is what I started with. Bombproof, relatively cheap and easy to fettle. Moved on to using a pair Speedcity's now in the summer, but go back to the XT/Open Pro's in winter.

do CX frames have spacing for road hubs or mtb hubs?

Most disc cx frames now seem to be spaced to 135mm which makes sense considering how few 130mm disc hubs there are.

FWIW, my 130mm spaced CX frame takes a 135mm hub just fine though.

lots have neither and are in the middle - even carbon/ alu frames don't mind 2.5 mm out.
