[#7173058]

I have frame with rear IS brake mounts. I have callipers coming that are post mount with 160mm discs.

Do I have to have the manufacturer specific adaptor, or will any adaptor that is IS to Post for 160mm work?

Thanks Al. I thought as much, just wanted to be sure. Would be daft to have standards that are not standard across brands... ๐Ÿ˜•

Have you got the time to go into a bit more detail, Ive repaired brakes but never bought replacements so I'm not too sure about the standards.

Calipers and rotors 99% just swap in/out, its that simple (assuming both are post mount, which is likely)

So I just buy the slx and bolt them on to the adaptor that held the avid? what about all those tri align washers, is all that compatible too?

Thanks by the way

Yes, as cynic-al says should be able to swap. If it helps, I've just put some Shimano deores (current model) on Mrs Baldman's bike. Used a Shimano IS to Post 160mm adaptor on the front with Avid rotor, and Avid IS to post 160mm adaptor on the rear - again with an Avid rotor.

Edit I didn't need to use the tri align washers - rotor and pad all lined up nicely without them

Just read up more on the specs of the calliper so, and they come with the adaptor a anyway... Reading is not my strongest skill.
