[Closed] Dirt Worker or Nomad?

[#2329457]

After the demise of our outside tap that isn't going to be fixed any time soon, considering one of these. DW are £90 at Rutland Cycles (who seem to be the only stockist I could find), Nomad's quite a bit more even for the 12v ones.

Probably wouldn't bother with a battery one, so direct comparison between the two.

Any experience/recommendation? Thanks.

Had a Dirtworker and a Mobi, would go for the DW of those two (has lasted longer already and just feels nicer)

I could be wrong here, but aren't DW now owned by/part of Nomad?

(I've a DW by the way, and think it's great, but haven't used a Nomad so can't offer a comparison sorry)

Ron, this may explain why googling dirt worker (with safesearch on!) gets you to the nomad site. Not looked at Mobi, will now. Ta.

Wiggle are doing them for £80. Looks a good deal and for a tenner you can get a mains attachment. Looks like the cheapest option, think I'll go for that, UK company as well... Ta.

I have the v17 mobi washer, which is great but i had the same problem as jedi, the hose connector broke after a couple of weeks, i think it was due to the fact the excess water still inside the hose was frozen during the really cold spell...ordered a couple of extra ones but the washer itself is great 🙂

I debated both but ended up getting a hand pump pressure sprayer from a garden centre, for less than a tenner, works fine.

Because bike specific one wont destroy your bearing! simples.

Tried it and binned it 🙁 mobi washer just has the right amount of pressure to clean the bike and not do any damage to bearings//seals etc 😉 the v17 is cheaper now than what it was when I bought it

Those pump-in-a-bucket things are fine for home use but for carrying in the car a DW is much better as it holds it's own water . I carry another 20 litres in a jerry can too, so 35L total, can do many bikes.

+1. I just want an easy solution for cleaning the bikes. Without the hose, sorting mine and the two kids bikes was a proper PITA after a muddy ride. Bought one from Wiggle with a voucher so £75.

I shall also be using it on my mud-loving Labrador. At low pressure obviously!
