Can I fit a Direct mount rear mech to my 2008 trek hardtail frame?
I tried already but can't see how it would go. I don't have a b-link bit
Would that work if I had one?
Or is there some kind of adaptor available?

Part numbers for B-link kits will be on Shimano Techdocs site, LBS can order from Madison with that code, should be a lot cheaper than swapping drop-outs/hangers even if they are available for your frame.
