[#3017375]

I'm thinking (dreaming) of building up a Dialled Prince Albert.

I know it takes a 120-140mm fork but looking for advice on what to get.

Ive only got 100mm Silver TK Recons (brand new) that I'll sell to put to.

What would you lot recommend? Budget with be £200 max.

Pikes

do the recons not adjust up to 120mm by removing a spacer?

@MoseyMTB

I can't ride a hardtail for long now with my back condition, and the frame was just sitting there, so sold it on to a new home.

Only went this week, but regret it already!

Not sure cruzheckler, LoCo any idea?

Think for the Dialled I'd want something beefier than the Recons.

Tom that looks awesome. Don't think I can resist the Kawasaki green this time.

Gutted I missed out on the 15.5 on here a while back.

Pikes on mine, they seem to suit it well. Personally I think I'd find it a bit steep on anything shorter.

Really great bikes though, lots of fun and pretty well indestructible which was an important consideration for me.

Recons can go to 120mm depending on spec. (O.E e.t.c)

Got rid of the Albert to make way for something new, still miss it, you're right about wanting something a bit stiffer on the front as the it will encourage you to ride like a T*%T 😀

Currently using Fox Float 150's, changed from Pikes only because I got a stupid good deal and fancied something lighter. Pikes were fine though and a good choice for s/h as they're pretty bombproof.

130mm Bombers were ace

Then swapped to 145mm Nixons which suited it perfectly.

can't decide between the green and the orange. What shade is the orange in comparison to say a blue pig or a soul?

I tried mine with old (long) 130mm marzocchis and 125mm fox vanillas which the frame was originally designed around. I definitely preferred it with the 125s, much more lively and fun.

The orange is gorgeous Mosey. I have one and bizarrely the colour reminds me of the cabin of a lifeboat. There's a subtle pearl/metallic effect to it too.
I've got some Fox F120s on mine but I'd like to upgrade to something longer and stiffer. Does anyone rate Marzocchis? They seem a lot cheaper than the likes of Fox and Rockshox, are they that much worse?

I ran mine with 140mm floats but i reckon the extra stiffness of a fork like the Pike would be better. If i'm completely honest i only really changed it for a Dialled Alpine because i liked the colour of the Alpine more (my PA was grey)...

Mate has an Orange PA and we both have green Alpines, IMO the green is nicer but you wouldnt go wrong with either.

U-turns 85-135 but they never go below 115, usually up around 130.

Definitely this. (But orange is best 😉 )

Edit: I'm now wondering if i should start looking for navy blue bits to complete the lifeboat image.

For the money I think you'd be hard pressed to wrong with Pikes.

Sektors on mine:

Also ran 145mm 20mm Nixons. Nixons are burlier, but Sektors are U-Turn so I tend to run them a little lower for local riding.

Frame is up for sale too - my new frame should be arriving today. Actually, I could do a great F&F deal with the Manitous...

Edit: New frame here. PA is up for sale. 😀

Marz AM4s, then coil Pikes, now air U Turn revs. Best at 130-140 for general trails and wind down to 110 for the climbs.

Pics before and after the WHW. Great frame very capable. Love it in orange

I've got Revs 140mm on mine but they came off my old bike. If I was having to buy it'd probably be Sektors 110-150(?), my friend has these and they seem excellent. The u-turn allows different frame choice in the future as well...

Marzocchi 44 RC3 on mine. Love it.

Oh and 3 year no-service warranty. Don't see anyone else offering that...
