[#4284981]

Fancy ordering an alpine to replace a very creaky old patriot.

I'm 5'11" and wondered whether a 16 or 18" frame would be better. I'd normally think an 18 but wondered what other people might have found.

Ta.

I agree. I much liked my larger MK 2.

I had a mk1 18" @ 6'1", if you want to pedal it I'd suggest the same.

i had a 15.5/21" MKI frame wich at 5'7" was fun, but i always found it a little cramped and have ruined many saddle rails by running them too far back (wanted a short stem and anything more than 40/50mm was pants).

now have a MKII 16" and it just feels better. suddenly i've more room.

at 5'11" i'd say you were better off with a larger frame unless you are planning on being carried to the top of each hill.

awesome frame. i am a fanboi.

Are you sure you don't want a very good used one?

I do want to be able to pedal up hill too. The plan is for an aggressive trail bike that can go up and down.

Glasgowdan - are you trying to tempt me?
