Alpine arrived yesterday, down to the shop to get a new headset fitted this morning and mostly built by lunchtime, just waiting on a chromag seatpost which should arrive in the next few days. I want to ride ma bike!!
If you read my earlier posts, the bling wheels will have to wait, tax refund is looking smaller than expected. bah!
what width bars you got on there and what size chain ring?
same colour as mine. what size?
looks fit for purpose..........
...........when the saddle is on....
Chipper!
Don't sit down!
sunline v1 bars, 32 middle ring and 17/22
how much did you pay for the frame if you dont mind me asking?
thinking of selling mine, no idea what it'd be worth......
cheers

Smurf,
Would you take 200 quid posted?
very nice bike! looks great!
What are you using to keep the chain on without a front mech. I want to try 1x9 but dont want to be dropping chains all the time
mandog, yes indeed! I can even deliver it to you by hand this weekend if you like, will be heading to north downs anyway for a ride.
What's your email address, can send photos if you like

actually, if you don't mind maddog, could you please join the above thread (classified ad for this frame) if you'd like to buy it. Either that or email me direct....
Looks brilliant fun. Best-looking build I've seen on here for a while.
Bet you can't wait to ride it!
smurfbiker could you send me some pictures, I am very interested in your frame.

You want a bash guard and an N-Gear Jump Stop. Small, light, discreet, but very effective. Billys sell them.
Yo RS how tall are you to be riding a 17/22" ? Cheers
Just picked up my seatpost and collar yesterday, only issue is that the bolt in the quick release collar is too long when you have it done up tight enough, going to have to get the hacksaw out to that.
ackie, I'm 5'10" and from my little ride around the car park last night it felt pretty good, I'm glad i got it over the 15.5 and i feel the 21 would def be too short, I may still opt for a slightly longer stem than the current 50mm. Will get it out at the weekend first though to see how it feels on the trail, ****in snowed last night too, good few inches, so going to be a fun ride.
Anyway here's pics of the complete bike apart from maybe a chainguide. I'll see how much of an issue it is first without it.
sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet
oh! and needs a chainstay guard of some sort, don't want to get that nice paint all oily ๐ฏ
mmmmm purple. mmmmmmm
That's nice. Sensible component choice. Looks luuuurevly...
i do like those ๐
I am liking it alot. I am ordering mine this weekend. Would you like to build mine up when it arrives?!
How much did you spend onthe whole thing etc?
Looks cracking.
It does look good doesn't it, I can't wait to get out on it at the weekend even if it will be in the snow.
If you'd like to ship it to canada with a case of beer i'll build it up for you ๐
Cost, Well most stuff came off my Enduro, frame was won off ebay (new from their US distributor) for $280, shipping to BC, Canada unfortunately came in at $100 and then UPS raped me at my front door and demanded another $70, but all in when you work it out, I think I paid about 300 pounds. Only other parts were a new headset $70, Chromag Post ($80) and Chromag collar $45
Well rode my Alpine for the first time today, very impressed with it. Definitely need a chain guide with the single front ring setup as the chain kept dropping of at the slightest hint of a drop.
Was out early myself with the trails to myself so decided to try some videoing with my little digicam, looks reasonable if a little lame in places, first time on the bike in a few months though and first time back on a hardtail so looking forward to pushing the alpine each time i get out. Surprising how tiring it is walkign back and forward to get the camera and trying to get the bike up to speed without having to go too far back.
at the end of the trails, still looks remarkably clean, I was filthy.
