[#11473601]

After for some new base layers for winter as my old Howies ones are finally starting to wear through after a few years of regular usage.

Just looking at alternatives before I buy, and noticed that the DHB stuff is almost half the price of Howies and is similar in terms of weight (~200gsm).

Has anyone used both? Is the DHB stuff good, or does it fall apart rather quickly?

Cant comment on Howies but my pair of DHB merino long sleeve base layers are in their 4th winter season and are still going strong.

Yeah DHB merino is quality stuff for sure. I've had both, and many other merino things and DHB is up there.

The average age of my Howies merino (lightweight) tops is 7 years old. Washed at 30 degrees with the rest of my fit.

Have a couple of dhb.ย Think they're a mix of Merino and polyester. The Howie's stuff, though nicely made, is too fragile by my reckoning. Also IME the merino polyester blends work more effectively as well as being more resilient.

I like the fit of the Howies ones, they fit me well being tall and slim. My existing ones are nearly 10 years old and more hole than merino now.
