I’ve picked the wrong week to go away again!
I cant be arsed with riding in the grim on holiday, I’ve only got limited equipment and drying space so I’m limited to the couple of dry days we’re likely to get this week. (Tuesday and Thursday)
It absolutely hosed it down for the last 2 days, so where is going to be the best places to ride that won’t be slop?
I was thinking Dalbeattie won’t take much drying out for Tuesday, then Thursday is a toss up between Drumlanrig, Mabie or Ae. It’s the first time I’ve been up here with the full suss bike so I’m tempted to go to Ae, but I love Drumlanrig, how Pleasant is it going to be this week though after all this rain?
Also if I get up early enough I might be able to get Ae and Mabie done on the same morning, though that might be a struggle at this time of year, it was doable in May.
Any thoughts?
DBT dries very quickly.
Dolce & Gabbana? Will the fabrics take it?
Mabie is currently shut for (yet more ****ting) harvesting works I'm afraid.
Dalbeattie and Kirry both drain pretty well so either will be good.
Drunlanrig is great pretty much any time. A bit (OK, a lot) or rain won't be a problem.
Sorry you picked a soggy week for it, it's been properly rank here of late!
It’s not been great at home either so I’m not complaining, I’ll skip Mabie then and make a call on either Ae or Drum on Wednesday. Kirri is an hours drive from where we’re staying so it’s too far for a family holiday. I’ll go back there one day, it’s been nearly 10 years.
I ride Drumlanrig a lot but it’s not so much fun when the roots are wet...
Yeah that’s what I was thinking, it looks mostly dry after tomorrow so it might have dried out by Thursday, but there’s so much water about I don’t know if it will just be a soggy mess.
I might just play it safe and stick to the Rocky ones this week. There’s always next time.

Bollocks, that's when it's at its best!. 🤗
I've always had a soft spot for Dalbeattie, that and Ae for the off piste would be my choices.
Be sure to get to the Anchor in Kippford for a pint of prawns.
