Has anyone rode or read any magazine reviews of the Devinci Dixon?
Not many reviews around at moment, one on mtbr and one on bikeradar, had a quick spin on one a few weeks ago and its very nice, looking at custom option myself, hoping to take out the demo bike at freeborn for a proper go before placing an order. Had a few Devinci's before so know they are good solid bikes with good warranty backup from Freeborn.
looking at getting one myself. Be nice to read a good review beforehand mind. Lovely looking bikes
What forks do people tend to run these with? Quite like to run one with 160's.
Mr mills, does it come with iSCG tabs or did you BB mount that chain device?
Mine has 150mm Revelations. No ISCG tabs - the Stinger is indeed BB mounted.
According to Freeborn the frame was intended to have the tabs but they "forgot" to put them on when they built the frames. Canadians eh.
I've ridden one. Very good fun bike. Confidence inspiring and quick downhill with good grip up hill. The one I rode had Fox 36 forks and wide bars and felt spot on in that build. Still under 30lb too.
Really nice bike imo.
I've got one. I'm still getting used to it and changing the set-up a bit, but I'm really pleased with it. No flex in the rear end, nice active suspension, pedals very well. Mine is built with Float 36s at 150mm. It would go well with lighter forks like 32s as well, but I only want 1 full suspension bike, so I went for the 36s. They look really well, a lot of people have commented on that.
The paint is a bit fragile, mine is well taped up. Obviously you need a 142mm rear hub, be aware that the standard Pro2s can have axle problems when you convert them, the Evos have fixed that. You also need very skinny cable ties to route the cables around the BB properly, so if you get one have a big roll of helicopter tape and some tiny cable ties handy when you build it up.
more pics and reviews please.
Had a good look at one at dalby yesterday, going to take it for a spin today. They've got two there, one built with fox 32's, and another built with 36's lowered to 150.
Said they were coming with iscg next year (or at least their fitting that you can mount a ring with tabs on, like the Wilson I think, looked pretty neat.) Though he did say a price hike was likely too which is a shame. Also said they are adding to their list of Uk stockists.
Just finished building mine. Initial impression is one of very high quality build, tough, loads of great features and spot on geometry. Should be testing in the Scottish mountains this weekend so will have a better idea of it's capabilities. My large is 31lbs with a very tough build, gravity dropper and DH bars/tyres etc. Could go much lighter but it wouldn't last 2 mins up here!
