Interesting looking at those architect's renders. Is that kind of roof (casting different light patterns) typical? If I was using the courts in the centre it would drive me mad. Must be function over form and the real thing would get something more practical?

Hopefully the construction contract will be signed before the elections so it should go ahead. Also Derby have spent significant money getting to this stage and the money is already allocated in this years budget but I won't finally believe it and order a new track bike until construction starts.

If you live near Derby and fancy having a go at track riding before the Velodrome is built you can try the Forest Town Track which is 25 miles away near Mansfield and a lot closer than Manchester. You will also find out some of the drawbacks of an outdoor track ๐Ÿ˜‰

Does this mean the end to the Velodrome Plans ?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-derbyshire-17929623

Labour have never supported the plans.

I seem to remember they said they said they'd stop it. Someone needs to tie the bus plan back to the "growth" objective.

If you are interested in the Velodrome and do not want to see it cancelled drop an email to Paul Bayliss, the new Labour leader.

Paul.Bayliss@derby.gov.uk

If we don't lobby now the whole thing may be scapped.

If you want to see a Velodrome in Derby it is now more important than ever to lobby the new Council as the decision to sign the contracts has now been past to the new Labour Council who upto now have not supported the project.
