[#4779567]

Seem to be having a major trauma with my XT. Wasn't picking up the lowest two gears in any ring, so adjusted the high screw and got it working...but then lost the two high gears...so adjusted the low screw...and now back to where I started.

Any advise (apart from go to the lbs)??

Cable tension is wrong - too tight

Undo the cable and check the mech drops parallel to the bottom cog and push the mech up to see if it reaches the top cog, if the mech goes the full width of the cassette then it's a cable problem, check routing and check to make sure it's routed into the mech cable clamp correctly.
Edit.. Or what he ^^^ said...

I unhooked the cable and have been changing the gears pushing the parallelogram and still not doing it.

Try uncrewing the high and low stop screws all the way out. If it still won't go then try adjustig the B-tension screw. Thats the screw on its own that points backwards. You want about 3mm between the top jockey wheel and the big sprocket (you need to push the mech over to the big sprocket.
You have now ruled out adjustment settings. If it still doesn't work then something is probably bent. Check the hanger first. If that's OK it's probably the mech.
