Hi all
My front derailior has far to much play in it, so cant move into the big ring,however, i cant find a serial number on it to buy a replacement.
Also the chain will need replacing but all I can see is HG on the links, 27 speed

The serial number is usually stamped onto the back of the cage. However if it is 9 speed Deore then there are only two options to chose from. FD-M590 is top swing and FD-M591 is conventional.
Does it have a high band like the top one or a low band like the middle one?

If the chain has HG on it then it will be a Shimano chain. Probably a CN-HG53 Deore 9 speed one.
Thanks for the info, the frame clamp sits below the actual deraillior link and the cable run is from below, but it looks as though the cable can be fed from above due to the guides on the non chain side.
right best place to buy then price/ service?
