What do you reckon to these? They are not that much heavier than XT or SLX, and as I am not that hard on brakes wondered whether they are reliable and sturdy? I can get them at around £70 a pair....almost a disposable item! Maybe you know somewhere cheaper?

I got a set as part of the deore 2012 groupset I got, initially I ran them 160mm f&r and was a little underwhelmed, but a change to 180 front, and the second set of pads (sintered superstars) and they're great, certainly no plans to upgrade anytime soon. For £70 a set I'd say go for it!

I run Deore with Superstar sintered pads and they work really well. I've stuck with the 160/160 configuration as I don't ride far/fast enough to warrant a larger disk.

Definitely better than Hayes So1es and Hope C2's!

Been using a 2011 set recently, very impressive. A lot like old XTs, maybe slightly more spongy feel but still very good.

Love my Deore's I put Disco Pad kevlar pads in and they improved 30% only bled them once in 2 years too. Where can you get them for £70 wouldn't mind another pair.

i bought some from Rose a month ago, cost around £75 with adaptors and postage (no discs), they are really good brakes for the money, they are not quite as good as my XT's but they are not far off, one finger braking and very predictable. imo best value for money brake.

My missus has them on her bike and they are great for what she rides mainly trail centres. Great value for money and stop the bike as well as any other brake

Actually I have an unused 2011 pair to sell, with 180/160 discs - if you'd be interested?
