Girlfriend wants to do more bike maintenance (win), so is looking for a toolkit. Any good deals at the moment - ideally under £25-30. Alternatively, if anyone is selling one, please post up!

Looking for at least;
HT2 BB spanner with crankbolt tool
Chain whip
Cassette lockring tool
Chain tool

Nice things would be;
Cone spanner
Tyre levers
Adjustable spanner
Spoke key
Cable cutters
etc

Ta, Duane.

No such thing as decent cheap tools cable cutters are at least £25 on their own. Ice tools are not bad. My uncle bought a cheap set from Lidl i broke the chain tool on its first go and bent the cone spanners second time.

X-tools one cheap on CRC now - costs more than £30 even at that though.

Ice tools kits are decent enough, I have never tried X-tools. Parks make some kits like the AK-37 but not cheap. Parks tools are very good though. Good tools make maintenence easy. If you do not have a stand already I would recomend one as working on a bike without a stand is PITA. Working on a bike in a sturdy stand is a dooddle. Skimping o fthings like this just makes you wish you never started the job. Don't ask me how I know!

Cheers for the replies. I have a decent set of tools, stand etc.
The gf just wants a basic set for herself so she can do most jobs without hassling me.

I guess the problem with these complete kits is they come with lots of tools we don't need (allen keys, which she already has, BB/crank tools for older BB/cranks, etc), but to buy the ones we do need separately would still cost more...

I bought the Advanced Bike mechanic tool kit by BikeHand from tredz for sixty quid. It is a great kit, and I think they do some cheaper ones too.

This one is 34 pounds.
