[#3906548]

couple of longish sportives coming up and wondered about the merits of better tyres.

some OEM ones on there at the moment which seem grippy enough, but don't seem very puncture resistant and I haven't compared them against something fancier for rolling resistance etc.

have seen a deal on a pair of Hutchinson Atoms, and can easily get Hutchinson Fusions or Michelin Pro 4s at Decathlon on my way home.

anyone got experience of these tyres and is it worth thh cash?

The Pro 4 are superb, have a look at Ribble, they may be cheaper than Decathlon.

Ribble have a tyre sale on at the moment.Imurrently running the older Pro 3s which I like a lot,but for sportive use Id look at Schwalbe Ultremo ZX or Conti GP4000S aswell.

Haven't tried the pro4s, but really like GP4000s for racing and training.

Conti GP 4000s. They last forever and are good enough to race on.

i would run the conti GP 4000s.

I have ultremo ZX and they don't last at all as an all round tyre, great for racing but seem to cut up badly under general use.
