Hi all.
I'm after a pair of MTB shorts for the larger bloke with a 40-42" inch waist.
Are there any recommendations please.
Not fussed if they have a liner or not and don't want to spend mega money.
Cheers
Steve.
As a larger bloke I can highly recommend endura humvees, comfortable, solid, loads of pockets and although not exactly cheap (about £50) they're nowhere near as expensive as shorts can be.
I look out for a sale and by four or five pairs a Time.
Another vote for Humvees. I'm fatty and I've always used them. Big thick elasticated waistband makes them comfy and they last ages.
Humvee +1
These go up to some fairly large sizes (when they are in stock).

Thanks all.
Is it the humvee 2 I should be looking at.
How do they size up. If I'm XL do I need to size up etc.
Get some braces, no need to have tight waist band so loads more comfy, and stops them getting in the way when you try and get low over the back of the seat.
Polaris do some with built in braces that look good.
I have a new set of really really good quality RF ones in navy blue shower proof too in xxl and are far too big for me
iirc £90 odd new
They come with a chainring bolt too
if wanting I can guarantee they're much better quality than TLD shorts
My Sombrios are super tough too from yrs ago and are massive but I'm keeping them I reckon...
Big fan of Nukeproof shorts - I'm a 40" waist, XXL are superb.
Fox Ranger XXL / 40’ waist are true to size and nice and comfy.
Slightly overpriced at RRP, but often discounted.
Fat Lad at the Back may have some of theirs in stock again.
Silvini mountain bike shorts, bought a pair from SportsPursuit last year and very happy with them, also cheap at about £30.
Got to agree endura humvees, comfortable, solid,
Ive got 2 pairs of Yeti shorts, as they seem to size 'up' well and fit my fat ass.
ON sale now too.
