Stayed here a few times. Basic but functional shower/toilet block (bring a torch) and good flat ground for comfortable camping. Though pitch carefully as some of the slight dips in the field can become waterlogged after rain. There are a couple of decent pub/hotels a mile or so to the west along the A5. Or you could drive into Betws-y-coed for a larger range of eating and drinking options.

Are you riding or walking?

Nice one on the edge of Betwys Y Coed, no idea what it's called though.

Should do the trick then, just remember to get to the pen-y-pass early enough to get a parking space. Oh, don't worry about change either as it's a nice round £10 for +4 hour parking!

Are you planing to do the full horseshoe route of Crib Goch/Snowdon/Y Lliwedd? Would recommend it if you have the time and legs for it. You will only really see the crowds on the summit plateau and the last few miles to the car, the rest of the time it's a decent mix of scrambling and high level traversing.

Enjoy!

Basic site in Capel Curig as you come into the villiage behind the old petrol station. At least three pubs in Capel too.

Here you go:

Seem to be mixed opinions on the Pub. I think it's great.

this one. it's on the other side of the hill from llanberis at the foot of the mountains next to a lake. pretty quiet though, & don't think there are any pubs in close proximity, but they let you have fires to sit around and drink beer in the evening, which is what you should be doing anyways if it's dry. you can hire kayaks and have a play about on the lake/river too.

+ 1 on the crib goch horseshoe too. amazing! but crib goch was mega busy when we did it earlier in the year, the other side was loads more deserted though.

+1 for Cae Du and several pubs in Beddgelert.

Gwynant is pretty too, but can have flooding tendancies.... But it's possible to get the Sherpa bus from the site to PyP and walk off the end of the horseshoe straight into the site.
